These Are a Few of My Favorite Things

So my better half challenged me to make a list of things that make me happy. Wow, where to begin? I would probably have to make a summer and a winter list... But for now here is my top two dozen-ish favorite things, in no particular order.

  • Sunny days (everything’s A-okay)
  • Listening to Vin Scully call a Dodgers game on the radio
  • Sitting on the couch and talking with Samantha
  • Going to see one of my favorite bands at a small club and they play that one song I REALLY want to hear
  • Going to the beach in the summertime
  • Eating those incredible dinners that Samantha makes me
  • Going to conventions and assemblies
  • Finding a really awesome deal on something (Paris tickets for $470!)
  • Walking into work and realizing that after two years I still enjoy my job
  • Eating dinner outside
  • Watching an old movie
  • Making pizza (Chicago-style deep dish)
  • Finding that perfect chord, riff or phrase when I’m writing a song
  • Waking up and realizing that it’s way earlier that I thought
  • Chasing Miles around the front yard
  • Getting together with old friends and laughing about old times
  • Finding a really great hole-in-the-wall joint
That's all for now... Stay tuned for pictures of us doing some of these things!

Getting Back In the Groove

Ok. So I realize that it has been quite a while since I blogged anything, hence the title. I was inspired by a friends blog that was simply a list of things that make her happy. I thought it would be a great way for me to stretch my writing muscles so here it is in no particular order.

Taking unflattering pictures of my cat
A cup of tea at the perfect temperature
Reading
Pre-20th century English movies especially by BBC
Cooking
Looking at old pictures
Aimlessly browsing through Target
Naps
Being with my honey
Anything fried and salty
Being in the French Congregation
The scent of lavender
Waking up and realizing I don't have to get up yet
Traveling
Big, old trees
Animals
Getting something in the mail from a friend
Researching our trip to Europe

This is it for now. I challenge my other half to do the same.
