Forgettable vahgetables
As I mentioned in a previous post, Samantha and I went vegetarian recently. It only lasted two weeks (10 days for me, due to an unforgettable meatball sub—thanks Claro's), but it was a very interesting experience. For some reason, I have always had this mental misconception that if I don't eat meat, I'm not going to get full. Samantha set out to dispel that notion, with help from a Williams-Sonoma vegetarian cookbook. I must say that some of the meals were out of this world. Some ended up being forgettable vahtegables, but that's okay too...
So how did I feel after two weeks of being vegetarian? Quite a bit healthier—and I even lost a few pounds.
We broke our vegetarian fortnight with a jaunt across the border to TJ and a rendevous with some inexplicably good tacos. Johnnie (my brother) beat us into submission by eating 9 street tacos, while I maxed out at 7.
The vegetarian experiment certinally changed my mind about having to eat meat. Now we eat vegetarian 2-3 times a week, and I love it. We plan on continuing, so stay tuned for some good vegerecipes. At least until the Williams-Somona cookbook goes back to the library :/

Michael and Samantha start a blog—finally
Welcome to our blog. You would think that someone who writes for a hobby (Samantha) and someone who writes for a living (Michael) would have created a blog by now, but... better late than never. We're going to use this space to talk about lots of things—trips, vacations, music, work, life as a married couple, and of course, food. Hopefully we can keep it interesting enough... At the very least weve got some cool photos and recipes to share ;-)
